Getting to Know You..
During one of our meetings someone asked if we could go around and say something personal about ourselves (I think Jane?!). Here's a thread to post to, if ya wanna. :)
About me: Married to Joe for thirteen years (as of Tuesday!), one daughter, Mikala, who is 11 going on 21. We have two dogs: a cowardly, but loyal, chihuahua/terrier mix named Mollie, and a moose of a lab named Moses. I've have taught at Walnut Grove for 4 years, but I left during 06-07 to teach at Branson for a year (I know that's professional & not personal, but teaching is so much of who I am, as I'm sure is the same as with all of you). I'll begin my 7th year of teaching this year with another terrific group of 2nd graders. We enjoy traveling, geo-caching and spending time in the pool when we're not busy with school-year stuff. Joe plays for a band in El Dorado Springs, which keeps a lot of our weekends busy.
Favorites: reading, diet Dr. Pepper, anything chocolate and hanging out with the husband, kid and dogs.

About me: I'm not married (was once a LONG time ago - long story), but I'm in a relationship with a great guy. I don't have kids and can't because of medical reasons, BUT I have a wonderful 4 year-old niece, Holly and an almost 2 year-old active nephew, Casey. My little sister lets me "borrow" them any time I want, but sometimes not as often as she (or I) would like. I grew up in western Kentucky, but love living in Missouri. Some of the best times of my life have been traveling abroad, both with a group and independently. I graduated with my BA in two days less than three years from when I graduated high school (7 on the follow-through). I just finished my 14th year of teaching and my 12th year at Bernie HS. I started out as a Spanish teacher and migrated to Business Education six years ago.
Favorites: Orange Crush, homemade Chex mix,reading, travel, watching movies with my guy and spending time with my niece and nephew
About me: I have been married for 10 years. I have two beautiful and amazing girls. Lauren is 8 and Kennedy is 3. I love to spend time with them at the lake on the jet ski or at the pool. Another favorite is vacationing in Florida. We are leaving on Monday for 3 weeks to have some fun in the sun! I will miss all of you at the next meeting.
I will begin my eighth year of teaching this year. I have taught Kindergarten for all but one year when I taught first grade. I will be moving to a new district (Branson) next year. I am excited for this new adventure!
My favorites: Diet Coke and Hamburgers! I love to read (on the beach)! I also enjoy watching a good movie.
Like Michelle I have been married ten years, in fact we celebrate our anniversary at the end of June. I also have two very active and lovely daughters. Addie just turned 7 and Lilly just turned 3. They were born on the same day four years apart-my birthday is just two days after! June is like Christmas at our house : ) I love spending time with the girls in the summer-we plant flowers, go to the library, and hang out poolside. Summer is my favorite season!
I have worked at the Union School District for 12 years , but have been in three different buildings. First middle, then high school, and now elementary.
I can't wait to see where the STARR program can lead me as a teacher.
Favorites: Dr. Pepper, anything chocolate, reading (usually trash in the summer), and scrapbooking (I have my own room full of stuff!)
About me: I'm not married yet, but I will be as of Oct. 25. That means that I will have to leave early during our Oct. trainings since I probably should be at the rehearsal!! I don't have kids, but my fiance has a 15 year old son, so I will soon have a stepson. I do have an adorable mini dachshund, Ellie. She is my baby! I also have a niece and nephew who I get to see quite a bit. I can't wait until they are a little older so they can stay with me for a week.
This is my 10th year teaching and my 4th year at Winnetonka. I taught in Arizona for two years and then Iowa for four. I took time off to get my MEd. at Iowa State, but I came back to teaching. I teach English but have taught Spanish and Journalism.
Faves: Reading, chocolate, ice cream, watching movies, and playing with Ellie.
